OUR HISTORY
“IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD”
In a small country church in Fahardo, Puerto Rico, during a prayer service, the Spirit of the Lord spoke through an Elder Evangelist to a young Evangelist named Francisco Calderon. She spoke in a tongue not native to her land, English and said to him “The Lord said in this tongue you will speak to my people, and I will bless you and make you a blessing unto many.
“THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH”
A short time after the young Evangelist found himself in Hoboken, New Jersey, praying in the church of his future wife. It was here that the Lord rained down the English language on him. From this point, Evangelist Calderon started his journey of establishing three churches, True Gospel Holiness Church, Incorporated. Though True Gospel Holiness Church, Jersey City, New Jersey was thriving, an outreach ministry root was planted in Hoboken, New Jersey. This work was overseen by Evangelist Elizabeth Hardy and Minister Shirley Cummins. Many years later, through a direct move, God called another young Evangelist, Pastor M. W. Cummins. Raised under now Bishop Frank Calderon and Pastor T. Howell, Pastor M. W. Cummins founded and established Go Ye Therefore Ministries. Out of that root fulfilling the prophecy “and I will bless you and make you a blessing to many.”
Reaching out also from True Gospel Holiness in New Jersey with four children, already grown and out on their own he left New Jersey for Virginia to establish True Gospel Holiness Brodnax. This would leave Pastor T. Howell as Pastor and Jr. Bishop of New Jersey.
God desiring to reach even further sent Bishop to a prayer group in North Carolina and from this group, True Gospel Holiness, North Carolina.
Shortly after this, the Lord called Bishop Frank Calderon home. His work was finished but the Promise of God was not.
COMING INTO THE PROPHECY
From True Gospel Holiness Church of New Jersey, Bishop Tommie Howell reached out to long time member, Bishop Willie Irby to form a fellowship with Sycamore Church bringing them back into the fold and under the promise.
After his Father’s death, Minister Ruben Calderon, the youngest son, took over the reins of True Gospel Holiness Church, Brodnax. Pastor R. Calderon guided the church faithfully for ten years.
In 2005, the Lord laid on the heart of Pastor R. Calderon through a vision that said “ come out to a place He would show him.”
Walking in obedience, now Jr. Bishop R. Calderon and his wife, seeing that their grown daughter had moved on and out, sold what they had, the house and land and walked out on faith. Ordaining Pastor M. Walker to guide the church in Brodnax, VA, paved the way for Jr. Bishop to pursue God’s vision for him. Heeding the cries of the people and sensing a move of God, Jr. Bishop Ruben Calderon left True Gospel Holiness Church, Incorporated and established TRUE GOSPEL REHOBOTH of Richmond, Virginia.
He took off his robe of Jr. Bishop, laid it to the side and took up once again the Mantle of Pastor.
Under the wide umbrella of HOLY NATION MINISTRY, Pastor R. Calderon and congregation began to feed and house the homeless, reach out to the addicted and under True Gospel Rehoboth also able to bring salvation to a generation of displaced people, declaring the message that “the Lord has made room for you.”
Yet fulfilling the prophecy given to a young evangelist “and I will bless you and make you a blessing to many”
As a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, but let every man take heed now he builds on that foundation.
Continuing on, Pastor Calderon is standing on the promises of God in Genesis 26:22: And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.
